One of London’s newest emerging designer is holding an interactive exhibition at NOW Gallery at Greenwich Peninsula. If you haven’t heard of Molly Goddard you probably ought to check her out, look at her latest collection at London Fashion Week A/W17 as a starting point. Her work has a running theme of inspiration that has nostalgia, a coming of age feeling, mixing party dress and pretty afternoon tea into one.

Molly Goddard A/W 2017

The more affordable high street shops who have jumped on the craze of flouncy, mesh ruffled, frilled dresses that have all taken inspiration from the likes of designers such as Molly. Heres a link to to her clothes stock listed on Dover Street Market website :)

What I Like is a crafty interactive exhibition with Goddard's oversized tulle dresses hung from the gallery ceiling. The dresses level can be raised or lowered to a height that visitors find comfortable to sit sew directly onto the tulle dresses. The wall has posters with big graphic instructions of embroidery stitches that you can chose to follow. You collect the needle from the main reception area, chose your coloured thread and away you go!

There were six tulle dresses, each a different colour with the sunlit room acting as a perfect area to hold such exhibition.

When I got photographing the dresses that’s when I started to immerse myself into it a whole lot more. I began to studying the dresses, each creative panel embodied its own little story, whether that be a name that means a lot to someone, a little stitch of their pet, their star sign, flowers, faces or even just a new technique that they had learnt from the graphics on the wall - it was fantastic! Every single stitch makes the dresses grow and evolve into an inclusive art piece that can be admired by everyone.
